A Life of Service

Today is the best example for someone to describe how tiring and yet fulfilling a “Life of Service” is in our community. I’m just thankful to God that I have all these time and resources to share with the people I care for.

Woke up at 8am to prepare for my agenda this morning. Have to meet Brent to fix all the minor details we need to fix for the upcoming rock concert this Saturday. Had an interesting ocular at Cainta Catholic Gym, talked to the kindest admin I’ve ever met re: the concert details, followed up the easy-to-talk with concessionaires for Saturday , and fetched the SIGA kids from Napico and San Andres (who were somehow on time) to train them in badminton at 1pm in Myan’s. I missed my lunch because I was running late to do all these stuff. grrrr… Anyway, while training the SIGA kids, I bumped in to Aileen’s badminton coach and a close friend (hehe) of Neah’s, Coach Reggie. As I was telling him who these kids were and what we were doing there in the court, he volunteered to teach them FOR FREE this Friday at Myans and asked me to introduce him to them. Who am I to ignore these blessing? so we already set a practice date for that Friday afternoon. (Thank You God).

The kids were great and some of them really have the potential, including my favorite Sagip sit-in kid Jeffrey Asadon. Anyway, at 3 o’ clock, we already went home and brought them to their GK sites. By this time, I was really hungry. I decided to drop by at Jollibee but they were full including the drive-thru so I just headed home not knowing what awaits me at home. I asked my mom if there was food prepared, and she said ‘No’ then my world came crumbling down. I ate Banana cake instead but that didn’t do for my hunger so I opened a spicy tuna and mixed it with the ever reliable Sky Flakes. (Upto now, im still full, imagine that!?)

At 8pm, we had our service meeting for the Rock Concert. Everything went smoothly, Kaye even brought her laptop for our use balancing all those numbers and looking for pledges. Hannah provided the venue, food and drink for the meeting and even handled the talking for our food arrangement on Saturday. Agie gave a great idea on how to come up with additional financial resources. Grace showed her enthusiasm to go and help for that night even though I don’t know how’s she going to do it because she has a retreat. And of course, the presence of our hardworking head organizers, LA, Navs and Brent plus Nhoj’s valuable inputs and effort in coming up with the money for the concert.

I wish everything is as good as this always. I feel like my mind is floating on air because I’m realizing how everything seems perfect today including the result of the service meeting. Maybe I’m just living in a dreamworld but who doesn’t want to experience this kind of feeling everytime. Well, I’m tired now. Tomorrow is a new day. New challenges. New experience. Can’t wait to see how God works tomorrow.
