Another Birthday Gift from God….

Wah… Getting this email from someone you’ve been really anticipating makes me think “God, Thank You!” and “Really? I am worthy? God?”…  (Friends, pls. don’t comment be it good or bad. I wouldn’t believe it anyway)

Anyway, I was really anxious the whole week including last week because I was expecting an email from my Apprenticeship application. I was already preparing myself for the worst and last Monday was supposed to be “The Day” if we’re IN or OUT. When I followed up Sir John about my application, he said that he will have his decision this week.

And so, every day as I open my mails, I pray that his name will be on my list of my received mails. Alas until tonight, I couldn’t open the mail because I was so nervous of what the outcome may be. When I clicked on it, I started reading his mail slowly, word per word as if deciphering the hidden codes under it, not wanting to miss a single word to avoid misunderstanding. Then finally, a heavy breath of air left me as I read that there will still be a discernment process for the 11 out of 20 that got in. I’m overjoyed and it’s almost 3AM here but I can’t find anyone to express the joy I am feeling right now. But surely, I want to thank you Lord for letting me experience this joy. I want to share the letter with you guys so here it is:

Guys,

Sorry for the late announcement of picks…

To date, I do not have yet my final list but at least there is progress,
from 20 people who attended, 18 submitted and from the 18, now its down to
11…

To trim the group down a bit more, for the next 7 weeks, we’ll meet every
Tuesday… Hopefully, as things unfold, we’ll see whose decided and who
isn’t.   I do hope however that this next 7 weeks will be informative for
all and that whether you get in or not, the whole process shakes and wakes
everyone up on God’s purpose.

We all meet 7pm and hope to finish by 9pm.  Except for this Tuesday where we
will meet at 730pm.  We’ll have food assignments for the coming next 6
weeks.  I’ll also hand you the PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE book which will be our
topic for the next 6 weeks.

After this whole thing, we’ll know who attends with the Wed group…  See
ya!

PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK IF YOU ARE OK ON THIS OR NOT AND IF YOU ARE, IF YOU
NEED THE BOOK OR NOT.

Well, that’s all I have to share for now… Please, please continue to pray for me guys…  God Bless!

Best birthday gift ever….

Earlier, we had our graduation for the Basic Photography Workshop at Intramuros. It was fun and exciting, nerve-wracking for all aspiring winners for our finals entries. During the morning session, we had our open forum re: everything we want to ask from our professors re: basic photography. It was still enlightening because there were questions that can help us along the road to being professional photographers. After lunch, it was time for the show of all entries in Portraits and Still Life. As I saw some of the pictures already posted on the board, I was so amazed at how some of my other classmates made their amazing lighting for their entries. I never got one correct on who will bag the prize hehehe. Anyway, to cut things short, my entries were both in the Top Ten! Can You Imagine That? =P

My Still Life entry was the 6th among them and the top 5 winners were all girls. Here is my entry:

My other entry for the Portrait category was my birthday gift for this day. I bagged the First Place! hooray! Thanks to Mary Jane’s wonderful smile…

The other best thing is that the top 5 pictures will be uploaded on photoworldmanila.com sometime this month.  And tomorrow, Batch 8 will also be having their entries competition. Whoever wins from their batch will compete with our batch’s winner entries. Well, there’s no harm in hoping.. =P

Photoshoot

Last Saturday, I already had my first photoshoot for fashion. Leah asked me to cover one of their clients event in Rockwell Club. Unfortunately, there weren’t any models present to try on the clothes so all I was able to shoot there were shoppers, clothes and mannequins with the shirts.

While yesterday, at UP Diliman, I had my first photoshoot for a model’s portfolio. Ten, a friend from the net who loves photography as well, had her first DSLR to try out for her client. Maiq, the model, is also her long time friend from grade school. I thanked Ten for letting me join her shoot yesterday because I really enjoyed shooting in a different place and with a real model. The best thing when you have a model for your shoot is you get to tell what you want her to do and from there, create a magic in the picture.

Here are some of my shoots in these two events.
