Purpose Driven Life Invitation (November 8, 2007)

What on Earth am I here for? Ever asked this simple but nevertheless “important question“?

2 1/2 months ago, I applied for apprenticeship in Imagine Nation Photography owned by John Mateos Ong. One of the requirements for all aspiring apprentices was we all should be open about God. Second, is to attend a weekly bible study with the group every Tuesday night.

I’ve had the book for 2 years but was never able to finish reading all of it because I couldn’t apply the teaching without an accountability partner. Good thing God brought me this opportunity to discover my purpose in life together with other people seeking for answers in life. The book gave me a better idea about what I should really be doing in life and re-affirmed everything I’ve already learned from my SFC community. And I can boldly say that this book is something we really should have and read with a group or a partner.

So, I am inviting you guys on November 8, 2007 (Thursday) to attend the orientation about The Purpose Driven Life. There will be 12 slots (limited only) so that we could still have a manageable group.

The only requirements are:
1. Must be open about God
2. Must be able to commit and attend the 8 weeks of Thursday meetings

Questions? or Anyone interested please email me at dominic.barrios@gmail.com. Thank You and God Bless!

It’s in Christ that we find who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ… he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. Ephesians 1:11

Please pass to all your friends who needs Christ in their lives…

Purpose Driven Life Ministry

We’re at our 36th day of PDL and 4 days to go, I’ll be able to know what I want to do in life while serving God joyfully and passionately. As a matter of fact, I already have an idea what I would like to do. And I’m so excited to share this to others as well.

Probably after 2 weeks or so, I’m planning to open a PDL group here in my area. Open to all Singles or Non-singles who wants to join the group and know more about God or what your purpose in life is all about. I highly recommend people to attend this session once it pushes through. The only thing needed in this move is your commitment to attend, read and of course, a copy of the book.

After 40 days, Im pretty sure you wont regret attending the session. What I really value about the book is how it taught me and reaffirmed me on how to be a true member of a community. If not for the people I am with every Tuesday, I wouldn’t be as fired up to serve God again.

There’s no such thing as a PERFECT COMMUNITY!

I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to blogged, mentioned or proved my point that there is no such thing as a perfect community. Even well-known community leaders preach about this to their members. For instance, Bo Sanchez. Communities are made up of people and people make mistakes even if they are supposedly our leaders.

That’s the situation of my community right now as a whole.

I must agree that people do feel low and disheartened because of the situations (Who shouldn’t). But there is no reason to shift communities just because of the problems we are arising and just giving up on the community that blessed you with so much during your yesteryears. Maybe, after receiving all those blessings, we should also consider on repaying it by helping our community instead of living it on stray. Maybe, after receiving all those blessings, we should have at least developed our commitment to our community and realize that this is God’s gift to us when we had troubles of our own.

But as they say, there’s no forcing in this community. You may come and go as you want. But let’s say you shifted to another community, and problems happen again, Are you still choosing the easy way out?

Says a lot on our personality, doesn’t it?
